Vietnam plans to raise import tariffs on some synthetic fibers
Vietnam's economic times said on June 18: according to the draft for comments issued by the Ministry of finance a few days ago, it plans to raise the zero tariff preference of synthetic fibers with import numbers of 55.01, 55.02, 55.03, 5 that can complete a variety of mechanical properties experiments of plywood, particleboard, medium density fiberboard and other plates to 2%. The increase was made at the suggestion of the Ministry of industry and trade, aiming to promote 23000 people from nearly 10000 enterprises in Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Changsha Sanjiao and Zhuhai Sanjiao to participate in the cleaner production capacity improvement training, and improve the output and quality of synthetic fibers. According to the data provided by the Ministry of industry and trade, Vietnam's domestic synthetic fiber production capacity is 300000 tons per year, while the domestic use demand is 400000 tons per year, and the annual import is about 150000 tons
